Privacy policy
Last updated: 30 October 2026
Juice Radio is run by Feel The Noise Events Ltd, 53 Tithebarn Street, Preston, PR1 1DJ, United Kingdom. This policy covers juiceradio.co.uk and the Juice Radio app for iPhone, iPad and Android. We’re the data controller for the information described here.
Questions about your data: info@juiceradio.co.uk
The short version
You can listen to Juice Radio without telling us who you are. There are no accounts and no adverts tracking you, and we don’t sell your data. We only collect what you choose to send us, plus what’s needed to run the stream and keep the site safe.
What we collect and why
When you contact us or ask about advertising
Your name, email address, phone number (if you give it), your business (if you tell us) and your message. We use these to reply to you. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, or taking steps towards a contract if you’re asking about advertising.
When you enter a competition
Your first and last name, email address, phone number (if you give it), your answer, and your confirmation that you’re 18 or over. We use these to run the competition, pick a winner and get the prize to you. Our legal basis is our contract with you: the competition’s terms and conditions.
If you win, we may announce your first name and the initial of your surname on air and on our website. If you’d rather not be named, tell us when we contact you.
Some competitions have a tick box asking whether you’d like the odd email from us, and some ask whether you’re happy for the prize sponsor to email you with offers. Both are optional and unticked to start with. We only pass your details to a sponsor if you tick their box. You can change your mind at any time by emailing us.
When you join the Juice Crew
The nickname you pick, your town if you choose to add it, and any shout-outs you send. Your nickname, town and shout-outs appear publicly on the Crew wall on our site and in the app, so please don’t put personal details in them.
We store a random code in a cookie (juice_crew) so we recognise your nickname next time. It isn’t linked to your name or email. While you’re listening, we note which days and hours you’ve tuned in, so we can show who’s listening now and award Crew badges. That listening history is deleted after 90 days.
Our legal basis is your consent, which you give by joining. You can ask us to remove your nickname or shout-outs at any time.
When you listen
To send you the live stream, our streaming provider receives your device’s IP address and basic technical details, such as your app or browser type. We use them to deliver the audio and to count how many people are listening right now. We don’t use them to identify you. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running the station.
Keeping the site and forms safe
Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from spam bots. Cloudflare processes technical information about your browser or device to do this. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
To stop spam and misuse of the Crew and competitions, we keep a scrambled code made from your IP address. It changes every day and can’t be turned back into your IP address.
Settings on your device
The site and app remember choices like dark mode on your own device. That information stays on your device and isn’t sent to us.
News from other websites
Our news page shows headlines and pictures from local newspapers’ websites (such as the Manchester Evening News, Liverpool Echo and Lancashire Post). The pictures load directly from those websites, so they receive your IP address and browser details when you view the page. If you click a story, you go to their website and their privacy policy applies.
What the app does
The Juice Radio app shows our website and plays the live stream with your phone’s own audio player. To show the song and show on your lock screen, the app checks our “now playing” information every 20 seconds. That request doesn’t include anything about you.
The app has no advertising or analytics tools. It doesn’t ask for your location, contacts, photos or microphone.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell or rent your data. We only share it with companies that help us run the station, and only for that purpose:
- our website host and our web developer, Mako Digital, who look after the site
- our streaming provider, who delivers the audio
- Cloudflare, for spam protection on forms
- a competition’s prize sponsor, only if you win and they need your details to deliver the prize, or if you ticked the box to hear from them
We’ll also share information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Contact and advertising enquiries: only as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any follow-up.
- Competition entries: deleted 90 days after the competition closes, including your tick-box choices. We keep winners’ details longer, as a record of who won and that the prize was delivered.
- Juice Crew: nicknames and shout-outs stay on the wall until they’re removed. Listening history is deleted after 90 days.
- Stream connections: kept by our provider for a short time for technical and security reasons.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the data we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, delete it or stop using it. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email info@juiceradio.co.uk and we’ll reply within one month.
If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
Juice Radio isn’t aimed at children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data. Competitions are for over-18s only. If you think a child has sent us personal details, contact us and we’ll delete them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
The Juice Crew
When you press play on our website or app, your device sends a small "still listening" signal every 30 seconds so we can count how many people are listening. Your device makes up its own random ID for this and keeps it in your browser (local storage and a cookie). We only ever store a scrambled version of that ID. We don't use your IP address to work out who you are.
If you join the Crew, we keep the nickname and (if you add it) the town you pick, and show them on the Crew wall while you're listening. Shout-outs and requests you send go to the presenters in our studio along with your nickname and town.
To stop spam we keep a scrambled, daily-changing version of your IP address for up to a day, and we use Cloudflare Turnstile to check you're a person.
Listening history (which days and hours your device was listening) is kept for 90 days, then turned into simple totals for badges and deleted. Shout-outs are kept for 90 days. Crew members we haven't heard from for 13 months are deleted.
You can "Leave the Crew" at any time from the Crew panel: that deletes your nickname, town, listening history and shout-outs straight away.
